The C100 Presents TOuncovered!

September 18, 2013 C100

What is TOuncovered?

TOuncovered is the C100's latest edition to AccelerateTO. This year, AccelerateTO is featuring two of Toronto's very own tech up-and-comers. These companies were carefully selected by the C100 and their partners for this exclusive opportunity; a chance to launch and demo their products just before keynote speaker Jack Dorsey enters the stage at AccelerateTO!

How Does TOuncovered work?

The two TOuncovered companies each have 5minutes to launch and demo their products in front of a live audience in Toronto and to our live streaming viewers across the globe.

What the companies don't know:

As a special thanks for their participation and as a congratulatory send-off, C100 has partnered with Relay Ventures, Rho Ventures, and OMERS Ventures to present each company with a Start-up Kit consisting of 2 iPads, 1 Mac Book Air and a $500 gift card to Air Canada!

Take a look at this year's TOuncovered companies!

Bionym is a Toronto based startup that develops innovative identity and convenience-based security solutions for modern problems, using revolutionary technologies to protect privacy and ensure data security.

On September 3rd 2013, Bionym launched the next generation of personal biometric technology called the Nymi. The Nymi authenticates users through its two uniquely constructed sensing surfaces by reading a user’s electrocardiogram (ECG). It then communicates your identity to all of tech through Bluetooth Low Energy and proximity detection. The Nymi also allows for gesture specific commands, creating a dynamic and interactive experience with the technology that enhances your world.

Passwords, PINs, locks, keycards, everything requiring a protected prompt for identity can now be seamlessly and securely bypassed by this unique wearable tech. The Nymi is available for preorder at GetNymi.com

Karl Martin is the co-founder and CEO of Bionym. He is an innovator and entrepreneur, and is constantly driven to create new things that capture people's imagination. He is a recognized expert in biometrics, security, and privacy, having served as an expert witness and speaking internationally on these topics. He is an inventor of multiple security and biometrics technologies in current use today. Prior to co-founding Bionym, he was the principal at a consulting firm that developed novel biometric solutions for industrial and government clients. Karl is also an active volunteer in the IEEE.
