Since joining the C100 I’ve been asked one question in-particular from entrepreneurs, sponsors and partners alike - what is next for the C100?
As a participant, producer and observer of Canadian tech events over the past few months, one thing is clear - the C100 has done some really amazing work since 2010! We’ve built up a phenomenal brand through our events and the meaningful connections we’ve made for Canadian entrepreneurs. It’s a great place for us to be as I step into the role as Executive Director.
Change is always a good catalyst for evaluation, and now is an ideal opportunity to look at where we can deepen our efforts in connectivity and how we can build on our value to Canadian startups.
For the next few months we’re going to take a step back to ask some questions, and to listen, so we can formulate a thoughtful strategy on how we best play a meaningful role in Canada’s technology success.
We always encourage Canadian entrepreneurs to think bigger and push themselves to be global leaders. As an organization the C100 is no different. We want to walk the talk and continue to evolve - to stay innovative and ahead of the curve - so that we are in the best position possible to help Canadian entrepreneurs.
We’re inviting those closest to the topic into the conversation - entrepreneurs, business partners and other key stakeholders that are all working together to make the entrepreneurs successful. While many conversations have already started, we’re open to your ideas and feedback and encourage you to reach out over the next few months. You will be able to find me at Communitech’s Techtoberfest October 16th and 17th, Startup Week Edmonton October 20th - 24th and in Toronto for AccelerateTO and Startup Open House October 29th and 30th and back again for CIX November 18th. Alternatively we have our Canadians in Tech Meetups in October and December in San Francisco. And I’m always reachable over email, LinkedIn or the good ole fashion telephone.
The Canadian tech ecosystem has evolved tremendously over the past four years and we believe that the C100 has been an important part of that growth. The future looks amazing and we’re excited to drill into how and where the C100 is best positioned to support the Canadian entrepreneur.
Keep an eye out for our upcoming events and future announcements in the days and weeks ahead.
